When try to edit a full file -- not the snippet -- on two of my pages I get a blue screen in the edit area. If I look at the html of the edited page, there is nothing between the <body> and </body> tags. Can edit in snippet view fine an all other pages are fine in either mode.

I'd start by checking that the page has valid XHTML code. See this report.
The editor in SnippetMaster is designed to work with and to produce valid code. When it gets fed code it does not understand then it quite often gets things wrong.
