Best way to upgrade from v2.1 to v2.2?

What is the best way to upgrade from v2.1 to v2.2 without losing my current setting?

Is there a different auto-installer to do the upgrade or is it the same one that loads a new installation?

It would be a drag to have to re-enter my user settings and profiles.

Any advice?

The installer recognises the previous version and updates the database, preserving the settings. See the changelog.
