Is the new version being discussed on these pages the same as the beta version I have been testing?  One of the issues I have with the beta is that after editing and logging out, I cannot go back to the original pages. There is no menu or button item for going back to the main pages.  Since the beta is completely encrypted - Ican't add any menu items. Is this the same as the software that I would be buying?

Hello,

Yes, the beta is currently "over", although I will probably continue to utilize the beta cycle system for new releases that include major new functionality and needs to be well tested before "production" release.

From what you are describing, you want to add your own menu links to the top right menu area?

This is an interesting idea, and is certainly something I would consider to add into the program.  What kind of link(s) do you need?  For example, what if I added an option in the Admin Area where you could do something like this:

Add new link(s) to main menu:

link name___________
url__________

link name____________
url_____________

Then, each link you have defined would simply be added as a link to the main menu system on the top right.

Would that be suitable?

Let me know what you think...

There is no menu or button item for going back to the main pages.
There is no reason why the editor can't be placed in an iframe in a page with full site navigation. I have tried this approach to "blend" the editor into an existing site and it works well, appearing no different in overall layout from the main site, with menus etc still in place.

That's a good idea. Although it seems that with such a simple issue as just wanting to be able to get the user back to the main pages, there is no reason why the login page can't be unencrypted enough to allow that.

My question had also to do with wether or not the purchased version is as fully encrypted as the beta version is.

Yes, the purchased version is also encrypted.

The problem is that the template pages are different depending on if you have the "regular" version or the "rebrandable" version.

if I unencrypte the template pages, then I am not able to force the "powered by" or copyright information on the various pages...

What I might do is just make the "login" template a more simple un/pw entry box, and just remove the SnippetMaster info from this page altogether.  Not sure yet.

But for now, let me know what you think of the idea for adding your own links to the menu options.

That works for me. I don't have any problem with the need to encrypt. I just think it is important to be able to take the user back to their main pages without having to redirect through the browsers back button or bookmarks.

Agreed.

I am thinking that I will change the current link name from "home" to something else.  Maybe "file browser"?  What do you think?

Then you can add your own home button, which would take them to their own website, or your website, etc..

Works for me.  Thanks for your responsiveness.

Don't forget that you can actually change the name of the "home" link right now by editing the language file.  Smile
