I read you are in located in Corsica now: are you originally from there? I am from France but live in the UK now. I use to hike in Corsica. I sure miss the mediterranean sea!
No, but my dad was. He was born here but, like most young people of his generation, went abroad for school and then to find work. In his case, he went to Canada.. where he met my mom, etc.
I decided to come here for at least a year, because I wanted to "find out" my heritage and get to know "that side" of the family. My dad died when I was young, so it's an area I have never known.
What an adventure to come here, try to learn French, and actually live in the same old village (and even the house!) where my dad grew up. I just wish I could learn French a lot faster. It's a shame my dad never spoke French to us (I have a brother), but.. "Ca la vie", I suppose.
Where in France are you from? Any tips/tricks to learn French?
