Hey all;
It seems like SnippetMaster is an answer to what I want. However.........
Does anybody have a comprehensive demo or real website which is implementing SnippetMaster?
I've searched this website and the demo doesn't show me much, and the free version sounds like it is so stripped down that I wouldn't get much feel for what it can do.
My application is for webhosting customers to be able to modify certain select web pages with text updates, new images, updated links, breaking news....simple stuff.
With your demo not saving changes, I have no idea what gets changed on the web page.
Thanks,
Joe

I'm not sure how much response you'll get, since most customers/users of Snippetmaster don't visit this forums unless they have a problem.
Is there something that you would like the demo to do that it does not? You should be able to see how it works to find the page (demo.html), change text, add/modify links, add/modify images, upload files, etc...
You can see what is "editable" and what is not by clicking the Preview link in the demo. Then compare what is in the editor window with what you see on the preview webpage and you'll discover that only the center portion of the page is actually editable.
Let me know....

You are talking about:
http://www.snippetmaster.com/snippetmaster/index.php
That was what I was looking at. How do I use this. I'm totally lost,I clouik "Select a different folder:" and get nothing to work with.
I click "Select a file:" and get demo.html, but all I seem to be able to do is select font/and size, but no area where I can type in text, or anytning else. There's a big beige box with nothjing in it.
Is this thing even working? All I'm asking is what can snippetmaster do--some examples.
Thanks,
Joe

If you click the drop down listing box for the "select a different folder", you should see one folder listed. (snippetmaster) Select this folder, and then click the "open" button.

What browser are you using? If you are opening the demo.html file, you should see the WYSIWYG editor, and all the editing options, etc...
If you can't see all the editor toolbars, then can you confirm you are using internet explorer 5.5 or higher on Windows? (The next version will work with MAC, and also firefox, opera, etc..)
Let me know...

Oops. This ain't good!!! I'm using FireFox. I'm trying to switch all my customers to FireFox because of all the problems with MSIE. Since doing so my tech support calls have gone down to very few.
I hope your new version will suppiort FireFox, and also the new Nerscape which is also based on Mozilla.
I'll crank up MSIE and check the demo. Ok pretty nifty. I would imagine this is a pretty basic demo. I would want to make sure that the image resize would lock the aspect ratio.
To give you an idea on how I would like to use SnippetMaster, take a look at these example webpages:
1. http://tennessee-joe.com/
I would like to give the customer the ability to modify the greeting text......and,
2. http://tennessee-joe.com/telephotos_006.htm
I would like to give the customer the ability to change images (locking the size however),
and change the descriptive text blocks. The gray text block "Customer Feedback" might be an
area which might be frequently updated.
This website example may not be compatable with SnippetMaster, but this layout should give you an idea of what I would like to use SnippetMaster for.
Can do?
Thanks,
Joe

The new version will uses a totally new editor, and works with all the popular browsers, including the MAC operating system. Be sure to sign up for the announcements mailing list so you know when it is released.

It should do this.
To give you an idea on how I would like to use SnippetMaster, take a look at these example webpages:
It should work for what you need. The current version only allows one set of snippet tags per page, but the new version will allow for unlimited tags. (Editable regions..)
The best way to test this out is to download the free LITE version and try it out. If you need a hand with placing the snippet tags in the html code, just let me know.
Cheers!

Thanks.
I opened up a new thread about PHP operating with safe mode on. This could be a deal breaker. My server tech will not under any cercumstances turn off saafe mode. I didn't see anything in your install readme or faq's about this. I stumbled across it in your gen forum.
I may have been wasting both our time on this, unless you have a viable work around.
