Add a line to Upload.php

Back in 2004 I posted: http://www.snippetmaster.com/forums/index.php?topic=478.0
This described how I added a line to the upload.php script to send an email automatically when a file was successfully uploaded.  At some point in an update ioncube was used to encode the programming and I lost the ability to automatically send the email.  Is there any way for me to add this line of code to the upload.php script?
