[-] Snippet Tags and Users
« on: January 24, 2007, 04:35:55 AM »

Hi there, been playing with the new version, and I am trying to work out how best to assign a user to edit pages with snippet tags only, without having to edit every individual snippet tag in the HTML?

Hope this makes sense?   Basically, the way I understand it, is that you need to and a user to the attribute of the snippet tag.   So if I create a new user, I then have to go into the HTML and then add that user to every occurance of the snippet tag as well?

I think I must be seeing this the incorrectly, as I would expect to list a user group in the snippet tag and then in the admin control panel, you then assign a user to a user group.   Then this way it is easier to manage the users through the admin control panel.

Could someone clear this up for me, as I have read the instruction about users, and i have been tesing my theory in the admin control panel, but I guess I must be doing something wrong.

Thanks in advance.

OK, I have worked it out.   You need to set your user in question to 'Power', this way they can only edit webpages that have snippet tags inserted.

You can also set the "User" permission system so that all users can edit any snippet *unless* there is an Access Control List specified.

See here for more info on User Permissions and settings:
