(This could also be a Pre-sales question. I'm a bit new with SM. )
Is it possible to view entire page in edit-window, but allow users to edit only snippets -part(s)?
ie. outside of snippets code could be locked - no editable, just viewing.
I'm asking this because I use css layout in my sites and I find it difficult to make the pages look good or even ok in edit-window.
It would be awesome, if admins could lock a spesific areas in code.
I don't want to allow user to edit header, footer and navigation, but I would love to let them see those.
Maybe this is because I don't know SM good enough yet :)

Hello,
At the moment this is not possible. The reason is because firefox and other "non-IE" browsers do not support this kind of ability.
It is possible only with IE...
Since SnippetMaster is designed to work with all major browsers, I am forced to only allow functionality that works for all of them.
I am hoping that a future version of firefox will also allow this functionality to exist.. if it ever does, then I will immediately modify SnippetMaster to use it.
Cheers!

Thank you for your quick reply.
I'll try to deal with it ;-)

Henri, will this work with IE7? Does this depend on using the DHTML editing control? MS have removed this facility from IE7 for Vista to reduce possible security attacks and are going to provide a security update for XP to also remove the editing control from that OS. See this IEBlog entry.
