[-] dropdown not showing up during user login
« on: August 15, 2006, 06:20:04 AM »

as admin i can see both left and rigth dropdowns to navigate to the files i need.
when i log in as one of the users, i only see the left drop down.
i select a folder to goto  but the right dropdown does not appear.

its either a TAG variables issue or a setup (general) issue

heres my tag for one of the users.
on his page there are 3 snippets

-------------------

<!-- #beginSnippet name="Gary Bio" users='user1,user7' width="100%" height="350" -->

Place any HTML code you wish to make editable here...

<!-- #EndSnippet -->

--------------------------

<!-- #BeginSnippet name="Gary Events" lastsavedts="2006-08-14 11:18:47" lastsavedby="DjGaryMatthews" users='user1,user7' width="100%" height="350"  --><p>
Testing the system
</p>
<p>
Hey Gary. Thisi is Dj Liqid and GOD i hope this works
</p>
<!-- #EndSnippet -->

--------------------------------

<!-- #BeginSnippet name="Gary Contact" lastsavedts="2006-08-14 11:18:47" lastsavedby="DjGaryMatthews" users='user1,user7' width="100%" height="350"  --><p>

It looks like you have things set up like this in your Snippet Tag:

users='user1,user7'

This is the list of "Allowed Users" who have permission to edit the snippet..  (unless you are using the "regular user mode" where permissions aren't needed.. or if the user has Power User privileges.)

I think the solution is to either:

1) Give user Power User privileges.  They can then edit ANY snippet, regardless if they are listed in the "users" access control list or not for the snippet tag.

2) Make sure the user you are using is listed in the "users" list...

More info on the Users attribute for the Snippet Tag is here:

Referring to the Antifmradio link=topic=1082.msg4373#msg4373 date=1155651604]

"as admin i can see both left and right dropdowns to navigate to the files i need.
when i log in as one of the users, i only see the left drop down.
i select a folder to goto  but the right dropdown does not appear".

My experience has been exactly the same as Antifmradio and I cannot find any other replies that help me. I would like to give users access only to a folder called users and to any sub folders within it.

I set the user as a power user and made sure that the list included it.

How can I access the configuration  file to check what the GUI has set up?

Hello,

The solution is to do this:

1. Go to the admin->Users tab, and then specify the desired folder and URL as the starting folder and starting URL.  This will "start" the user in that location when they login.  They will not be able to navigate up from that folder.

I hope that makes sense?  If that isn't the solution you are looking for, let me know and I'll try again.
