When my client makes a test change, and clicks Preview, he gets a login page, not a preview. When I do this, I get the correct Preview window. He is using IE 6.0 as am I.

OK.. so you are saying that when the CLIENT logs in, the preview drops him back to the login page?
But when YOU log in, it works?
So the only difference is the browser computer?

Yes, when he clicks Preview, he gets dumped to the Login window.
We are both using IE 6.0

Does the preview open into a new window?

I'm having this problem myself. Has anyone come across a solution? I'm not sure if the preview works for anyone. I can't get it to work in Firefox or IE. Please help. Thanks.

This thread is 1.5 years old....
What version of snippetmaster are you using?

Oops, sorry, I didn't notice it was that old.
I'm using 2.2, the latest version. Just installed it today. I just searched the forums and found this topic - sorry I didn't look at the date....
Any ideas?

Do you have the Pro (paid for version)? Preview does not work in the free Lite version.

Yes, I do have the PRO version. I use SSI to pull in navigation on my pages, which I think might be causing the problem? The sample snippet pages included with the program preview fine.

Never mind about the SSI idea. I tested it out, and that is not causing the problem. Any other ideas?

Are you seeing the preview window at all? Preview is not working properly yet on IE7beta2 with 2.2 - it was not working at all with 2.1 where an empty preview window appeared. This is related to the path to the css file, but I have worked out a temporary solution for that.

Yes, the preview window opens, trys to load for a while, and then sends you to the main login page for SnippetMaster. This happens in both Firefox 1.5.0.3 and IE 6.0. But then, preview works fine with the sample snippet pages included with the program. So it must be something in the pages that is causing the problem. The page that is having the problem is http://www.aau4u.com/test.html.

The page has a JavaScript routine to prevent it loading in a frame. The preview works by putting the page code within a frame, so remove that bit of code from the header and it should work OK.

Ah, that makes sense. I'll give it a try. Thanks.

That was the problem! It is working now that I have deleted that JavaScript!
Thank you for your help.

You guys are smart! Thanks for your help!
I'm going to see if perhaps it's possible to somehow "auto-detect" if the preview page is NOT in the correct frame.. and then display an error message if appropriate.
BTW - is the new frame-based preview system working for you guys now? It automatically grabs the right doctype, and loads the base-href tags into the actual preview html instead of just plunking it "on top" like the old system.
Let me know what I can do to improve...
