Saving confirmed - but no changes done

It's quite plain to me that my problem was already asked very frequently. Even so I have to ask again because I can't retrace the solutions proposed.

- snippetmaster LITE v1.0.1.1 is remotely running on a unix server
- Locally I work with Win 98 and IE 6.0 - also tested it with XP (both machines within a network)
- Permissions of the pages are set to 777, register-globals are "on", shared.lib and config.inc are set to 775

Problem:
Everything seems to work fine, I get the confirmation screen after editing and saving - but no changes are realized within the edited pages, not  within demo.html also, which I also tried to edit ...
