[-] Style sheet options not available in editor.. using a php inlcluded header
« on: November 07, 2012, 12:03:19 AM »

Hi there, I have a large number of sites using snippetmaster and I love it.  Very Happy  However my client now requires increased editing access to his pages.  He would like staff to be able to do their own copy, complete with styled titles etc.  This means they need to be able to apply copy styles.   These are all provided in an external .css file.

The .css file is linked to in a shared header.

The header is called using a php include to the top of each page.

The editor is not showing any drop down style options.

I have tried an absolute path this doesnt help.

I see over the years that there has been mention that this issue is being looked at and that a remedy is in the pipeline.  Has it been fixed? am i doing something wrong?   Sad

Hello,

Unfortunately, it is not yet possible to read stylesheets that are included in an "included" file.  Shouldn't be too long, though.

oh no.. erm.. is there any other viable workaround for this situation?... can I use inline styles? or would the only method be to use pages with headers in place on all the pages that staff need access to....

At the moment, the only solution is to use either inline styles or a linked stylesheet in the file that is selected for editing.

lol - Ive managed to get all the styles to show in the drop down.. and display on the page.  But - I cant seem to apply / change any of the existing page styles using the drop down.  Darn 50% success.. - so far only tested in Chrome.

Ive got an external header called by php.

I place this script at the top of my content page after the php calling the header eg:

<?php include_once("header.php") ?>

<script type="text/javascript">
    $(document).ready(function() {
      $('body').append('<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="http://www.mysite.co.nz/css/main.css">');
    });

Works in internet explorer tho!! I have the full drop down of styles - and the editor will let me change the style and save it!  Laughing

I'm sure other people using PHP includes will find this helpful.
