As we all (propably) know microsoft word uses kinda funny tags (<span> etc) in it's code.
Well my customer has this problem he wants to write his texts in word, then copypaste it into snippetmaster to make it visible on his website.
When the page is viewed it says: Parse error: parse error in /home/com/atk/public_html/testi.php on line 229

The copypasted word text (in html source code) looks like this:

 <o:p></o:p></SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoBodyTextIndent style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt 131.1pt"><SPAN style="mso-bidi-font-weight: bold">&nbsp;<o:p></o:p></SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt 131.1pt; tab-stops: 65.2pt 130.4pt 192.8pt 260.8pt 326.05pt 391.25pt"><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt; LAYOUT-GRID-MODE: line; FONT-FAMILY: Arial; mso-bidi-font-size: 10.0pt; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-fareast-language: SV; mso-ansi-language: FI">Annettu tarjous käsittää valmiiden kotisivujen toimituksen

etc.

How do we continue from this step ?
I think this is (going to be) a huge problem with snippetmaster.

Also.. i have some problems with Opera not showing the edit box on snippetmaster.

Best Regards

I've tested this as a workaround for the lite version...

If you copy content out of MS Word and paste it into Snippetmaster obviously it copies all that background office specific crap.  However, all copies of Windows also come with the smaller program Wordpad installed.

So what I finally did was to copy my content out of MS Word.  Paste it into Wordpad.  Recopy.

Viola- Wordpad transforms the code into regular HTML code.  Not an elegant solution by any means, but hey it works, and it's not difficult for the client.

Yup.. had that in mind, and even tested (in notepad) before posting here.. But i would not want to add extra much work on the client so i wondered was there any easy way to do this Smile.

Even thou copypasting to notepad can for us experts be relativily easy.. it can take ½h for someone not that experienced Smile

THe current WYSIWYG editor for snippetmaster doesn't have support for Word.  But the new version does!  But of course... it's still at least a few weeks from release, so for now you'll have to do the cut/paste to notepad for this to work.

Here's steps for your client to use:

1) In word, press "ctrl-a" or use mouse to select desired portion of document.
2) Press ctrl-c to copy
3) Press "windowkey-R" and type "notepad"
4) Press ctrl-v to paste
5) Press ctrl-a to select all
6) Now make snippetmaster the active window.
7) And last... press ctrl-v to paste.

Sorry for the complication!!!   Sad

Theres no problem if the new version is coming out in a couple of weeks!

I just got off the phone with one of my collegues at another company who uses a special custom made tool like snippetmaster. It costs around 6000 euros, what is close to 6000 dollars.. pheew.. it has the same abilities as snippetmaster but it has a button that, when clicked, strips all variable codes from the code (<font> <a href> etc) so that you can put them all in again.. this is worky too.. but..
I wonder.. the old license key, will it work with the new upcoming version or do we have to buy a new license every time a new version comes ?
