After server upgrade to php 5.3 blank screen for snippetmaster

I noticed I did not have the 5.3 version of the ionCube loader so I got this and uploaded it to the ioncube folder. (The web host said to use FreeBSD 7 (x86) so I did.)

I followed the instruction to re-install Snippetmaster, deleting the contents of db.inc.php (and saving a copy) but still a blank screen when I go to mydomain/snippetmaster.

Then I tried to run autoinstaller.php, but got the error "The FTP Functions of PHP are not installed on your web server...". I called the web host and they won't recompile PHP.

I assume I should be able to re-install Snippetmaster manually now that I've uploaded the ionCube loader for PHP 5.3, but how? Do I need to download different files for Snippetmaster?

I have the PRO version of Snippetmaster, and it was installed in March 2009. I don't know what version of PHP was on the server at that time.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

The problem is now fixed, thanks to Henri's guidance. The issue was that after the PHP upgrade the Ioncube Loaders necessary to decrypt Snippetmaster files were not working on my server. The solution was to upload the appropriate Ioncube loader, and use a local php.ini file to set the path to the loader: zend_extension="/mypath/ioncube_loader_fre_5.3.so" .
