[-] License Key error
« on: December 05, 2010, 02:05:12 AM »

Hi,
My SnippetMaster Pro edition recently stopped working and gave me this error:
Your Local "Offline" License Key Is Invalid
I thought it may have been due to the migration my hosts made to new server and set about reinstalling SnippetMaster. It worked but wouldn't accept my license key (see attached.)

I read through the forum and came across a post showing how to manually add your license key to the application. I did this and now have the original error again. I re-uploaded the original file without the changes, but the error won't go away and I'm back to square one.

Please help.

P.S. I have managed to get the Lite version working again, but would still like to get my Pro version working as it should. The license was bought for www.houseofbeesting.com in 2007. What is worrying is that there is no record for me in the client area. Have these details been lost?

I am also having problems registering my Lic. key

This is the Error:

    * The license key you entered is either not valid or a connection to the licensing server was not possible.

I used the link to test the validation and it came back with an ok

I sent you a reply right after I received your email...  I need your FTP un/pw to access your account.  Can you please check your spam filter settings to see if you're filtering any of my replies?

Thanks.

OK, if there are no files listed in the drop down box for selection, then this is most likely because:

1. The "Starting Folder" for the user is not correct.  (Login as admin, the edit the user and make sure Starting Folder is correct.)

2. The user has no permissions to edit any files.  This depends on how you have configured the program, but one way to check is to change the permissions of the user to "Super" and see if that helps.  If they can see all the files.. then this means the problem is:

3. There are no files with "Snippets" inside them for the user to select.  So the software is configured to only let this user edit files that have valid Snippets.. but there are none in the folder they are in.  You need to add at least one valid Snippet to a file, so the user can select it for editing.

Here's a link to the documentation on how to add "Snippet Tags" to your files:

http://www.snippetmaster.com/documentation/snippet-tags-basic-config.html

I hope that helps.
