I am using Snippetmaster Lite and I just started making minor changes to a company's Website where I am a temp for four weeks.  We have an IT professional who maintains the Website, but I am fixing typos and would like to remove some carriage returns .  I'd also like to fix broken or incorrect links, if possible, without messing anything up.

Can we get Snippetmaster Pro for short-term use without having to pay for it, or try it out before we buy it?

I have just installed SnippetMaster Lite and I like what I see, but would like to trial the Pro version before purchase.  The link you provide above only appears to lead to a purchase page.  I am probably missing something obvious, but how do you get the trial?

Unfortunately, the "enter license key" function in the current version of SnippetMaster is no longer working with the new license system I just implemented.  I am working on a fix for this, and hope to have it ready within a week or so.

In the meantime, I can enter the license key for you manually if you provide me with the FTP login information for your /snippetmaster folder.  Let me know.

Alternatively, you can enter the license key yourself by editing one of the Snippetmaster database files. Here are the instructions:

1. Download and pen the "/snippetmaster/snippet-db/random_name/program_settings.php" for editing.

2. Look for this text around line #5:

license#
----------------------

3. Add your license key after the number (#) sign, like this:

-----------------------
license#SM-PRO-yourkeyhere
-----------------------

(Make sure there is no spaces or anything else after the key.)

4. Look for this text around line # 8:

-----------------------
program_name#SnippetMaster LITE
-----------------------

5. Change it to this:

-----------------------
program_name#SnippetMaster PRO
-----------------------

6. Now save the file and upload it to your website over the old file.

7. Now go to your SnippetMaster login page.  The first time this page loads, it will show you a "invalid offline key" error.  Ignore this error and just reload the SnippetMaster login page again.  Now you should see the program name has changed to "SnippetMaster PRO". This means the license key was successfully installed.

If you have any trouble with these steps, please let me know and I will help right away.  Thank you for your patience as I work to fix this license update problem.
