Topic: Rebrandable, removing references to SM? (Read 1113 times) |

I want to see if I understand this right: when you get a free rebrandable license you can then call SM whatever you want? So if I have a company called Acme Design, I can offer clients our very own "Acme Online Text Editor" and references to SM can be omitted? It looks like the rebrandable license allows you to offer a free online demo of SM to potential clients but what happens when they want to buy? Do I buy a new Pro license and pass the cost to the client? What would show up in the client's "powered by..." area?
Sorry for the confusion, thanks for any and all replies.

Yes, that is correct. With the rebrandable version of SnippetMaster you can remove ALL mention of Snippetmaster from the header and footer files, and replace it with your own information and links, etc...
When someone goes to your demo website and wants to buy a license, then you would simply purchase a new rebrandable license from me and then "resell" it to your customer. You would then need to modify the header/footer files for them...
(In other words, the rebrandable method of using the software is designed for web designers who are installing the software onto their client's website... and not really designed for just people who want to sell 3rd party software under their own brand with no interaction with their customer.)
I hope that makes sense?

Thanks for the clear explanation! I was thinking that it would have been weird to have potential clients demo "my" (really your script) but when it came time to install it on their site they would see something called Snippetmaster.
So how difficult is it to edit the header/footer when installing SM on someone's site, assuming I want to rebrand it of course.

It is very easy. The simplest way to edit the header and footer files is to just replace "Snippetmaster" with your own name for the program.. and then replace the link to www.snippetmaster.com with a link to your website.
The header and footer files are just normal HTML code, so you can make the change by hand with any text editor, or you can use a full web design software like dreamweaver or whatever...
