Hello SnippetMaster,
how to limit the editor to user-defined CSS?
And how to deactivate unwanted icons and options?
My users are not allowed to play around with colors and fonts.
BTW: If you edit a non-html-textfile in html-mode,
html-informations are automatically added.
Can this behavior be controlled/changed?
Greetings,
Frank

I'm not sure I understand. Do you want to only allow some CSS styles to be available to the user?
At the moment, there is no way to do this. I am open to ideas on how to implement it, however. Let me know what you think..
And how to deactivate unwanted icons and options?
1. Login as admin user.
2. Click the admin link.
3. Click the "Editor Groups" link.
4. You can specify the exact toolbar options you want to be available in the "Use Custom Toolbar" area.
Documentation on Editor Groups is here:
http://www.snippetmaster.com/documentation/
(Click the "Editor Groups" link on the left side under the "Admin Area" section.)
BTW: If you edit a non-html-textfile in html-mode,
html-informations are automatically added.
Can this behavior be controlled/changed?
Yes, this can be changed. The best solution is to use Snippet Tags, and then specify the "WYSIWYG=off" attribute. This will disable the wysiwyg editor from being loaded, and will allow you to edit the file using a normal text box.
More information on Snippet Tag Attributes is in the documentation here: http://www.snippetmaster.com/documentation/snippet-tag-attributes.html
You can also make SnippetMaster to "default" with text box instead of the wysiwyg editor. Go to the "Editor Groups" tab in the admin area, and then turn "off" the option for "Enable WYSIWYG Editor?".
Cheers!

Yes, exactly. The users should only select from user-defined CSS styles, disabling all other text-style editor-features.

OK... what do you think about something like this:
1. Admin has an option where they can enable or disable an option like this: "Allow only specified styles in stylesheet dropdown?" yes/no
2. If "no" is selected (default), then the system works exactly like it does now. All CSS styles are displayed in the dropdown list.
3. If "yes" is selected, then ONLY the styles that are manually added to a "styles" textbox would be displayed in the dropdown list.
What do you think? Would that work for you?

Ok, no problem. I think this keeps things nice and simple and easy to use.. so it works for me.
I have scheduled this to be added as a new feature, so it will be done. In another thread I mentioned my schedule for working on the new releases of snippetmaster, so starting June 1st you should see several releases during the summer, and this will be included in one of the first ones.
Be sure to subscribe to the mailing list so you know when new releases occur, and also so you can know when I ask for opinions and feedback about how to implement new features.

And a final CSS-question for today:
There is a place in the SnippetMaster-folders, where I can define my own CSS?

Hello,
No -- this is not currently possible. What you could do, however, is create a CSS file with your own styles and then add it to the webpage being edited. Snippetmaster will automatically "find" the CSS file and allow you to see any styles it has.
Why would you want to specify your own CSS styles, without a corresponding CSS file? The problem might be that if you specify a CSS style that does not have a corresponding file.. then when the page is displayed it will not work.
