[-] GoDaddy Windows Hosting Zend Optimizer
« on: March 13, 2010, 08:59:59 AM »

I have talked to tech support at goDaddy and they say that I can install the Zend optimizer. They say all I need to do is add the optimizer dll to the bin folder and make a php5.ini file. Has anyone had any luck doing the install? I have the zend.html file and it shows that it is installed correctly, but, my phpinfo file shows that it isn't and the snippetmaster install fails.

Any help would be very appreciated.

TIA
Glenn

Hello,

You can't install Zend Optimizer this way, as it requires files to be added to the "server system" area of the server.

Hoewver, you can install Ioncube Loaders this way....  so maybe try that?

Let me know how it goes.

Or... if you wanted to make it easier, you could switch to a better quality hosting provider that actually cares about your business and doesn't just tell you to do it yourself without providing actual instructions.

Is there any step by step on manually loading the ioncube?

This is the message I recieved when using the autoinstaller.

Skipping the Ioncube/Zend tests -- you specifically selected to use the Ioncube version.
Setting up the FTP connection...

Creating temporary work folder...

If the autoinstaller isn't working for you then I recommend the manual installation method:

Well I think it's time to give up on this. I have removed every line in my php5.ini file, put the ioncubefiles in according to the install instrctions, tested it. It doesn't seem to work. It is saying that ioncube in not running on the server.

I really wanted to get this working as I have about 5 clients that could use snippetmaster. At this point I can't give up on my goDaddy hosting. If anyone can shed any light on the problem I am having, I would apreciate it. I know it is not snippetmaster that is causing the problem as I have it running perfectly on my local server.

Thanks

Try a free install request and I'll take a crack at it.  Smile

(I won't be able to do it until Sunday afternoon, though.. I'm just about to head out for the rest of the day.)

Sorry for the delay with this.. I should be able to do all the installations in my request queue by end of today.

If you haven't received an email from me with the install details within 24 hours, please let me know!

Thanks!

Hi,
I have tried to get snippetmaster to work on Godaddy before and finally gave up in frustration.

I am confused by the last reply in this chain.
Did you ever get it to work?  If so, what do you need to do?

Thanks

Has anyone setup Zend optimizer on there hosted Windows account? I have it setup on my local computer, but I can’t seem to get anywhere with the godaddy site. I am trying to install a php program called SnippetMaster on my site.

You can use Ioncube Loaders with Godaddy "linux" hosting, but I don't know if Godaddy "Windows" hosting will allow Ioncube or Zend Optimizer.

What did Godaddy support say when you asked them if they will install Ioncube or Zend Optimizer?

I am also having trouble with installling Snippetmaster on GoDaddy. I had to manual install and the tech help did tell me I needed to use Zend but I got the "Zend Optimizer not Installed" page when I tried to go to the snippetmaster on the website. Has there been any resolution of this issue that anyone knows of? It was not my choice to use Go
Daddy so I am stuck with it.

It's hit and miss with Godaddy's servers.  Some of them support Ioncube and some of them support Zend Optimizer...

If you let me know, I can try an installation for you:

I do not have permission from my client to share that information with you, but maybe if I describe what I did you can see what is wrong. GoDaddy tech help was not helpful. I copied the php code from http://community.godaddy.com/help/1232/using-zend-optimizer and added it to a copy of the php. ini file and renamed it  php5.ini as instructed on the GoDaddy page, then replaced the php.ini on my site with php5.ini. I got the error message you see on http://www.tankman.com/snippetmaster/. The original page php.ini, by the way refers to uncommenting the Zend Optimizer, but as I don't know how to uncomment a php file I just added the code. I am including the complete code from php5.ini below.

register_globals = off
allow_url_fopen = off

expose_php = Off
max_input_time = 60
variables_order = "EGPCS"
extension_dir = ./
upload_tmp_dir = /tmp
precision = 12
SMTP = relay-hosting.secureserver.net
url_rewriter.tags = "a=href,area=href,frame=src,input=src,form=,fieldset="

The error you linked to seems to be about a missing file, rather then a Zend Optimizer error.  (So zend seems ot be working, as it decoded the index.php page..)

can you try re-uploading all the SnippetMaster program files and see if that helps?
