I also used the Zend zip file?

More info: As I was already using v2.0.16 I did not upload the "tiny_mce" folder again... could this have something to do with it?

Please be sure to upload the /snippetmaster/includes/tiny_mce/tiny_mce_gzip.php file.

I have uploaded the missing "tiny_mce_gzip.php" file and the WYSIWYG editor now loads OK.

I have noticed that it doesn't seem to be 75% faster Confused

Now it could just be my network connection but it would be very useful if other BETA testers could check the speed and come back with their findings.

Keep in mind that the compression system uses GZip to basically "zip up" all the required files into one big compresses stream. (Instead of making 50 request for each toolbar button, etc..)

Your server will need to support GZip compression for this to work, and not all web hosts have that enabled...

If you look at the phpinfo.php file for your server, it should have something like this near the bottom of the top section:

Registered PHP Streams:  php, file, http, ftp, compress.zlib

The template buttons are certainly quicker to load for me on a multi snippet page - difficult to compare how much quicker though as I have been using the Ioncube version but am currently testing the Zend version.

One of my clients is on dial up (poor guy) and he said he noticed it loaded faster and I didn't ask him about it.. so there you go for one. Smile

I didn't notice - seemed the same to me, but haven't ever had problems waiting for it, so - can't really tell on my side. Smile

We're living in a tiny village of 500 people in the island of Corsica...  every time someone sneezes our internet connection drops.  It drives me nuts.

Hi!

The 2.0.17 WYSIWYG editor loads in less than 0.5 sec from my website (webhotel in Sweden). Thing is, I'm on a 13.5Mbit/sec ADSL2 line, so that might make a bit of a difference. I have noticed it got a bit faster with the latest (2.0.17) release. Smile

Everything else is working just fine on 2.0.17! Very easy install now, I'm still using ioncube with "PHP safe_mode = off" and it works fine with the extra step to create the database folder manually. Razz
