[-] Does SnippetMaster work with IP addresses?
« on: April 06, 2003, 10:58:12 AM »

We are testing the Lite version with a very keen eye toward buying the pro version. However, we are having a problem running SnippetMaster on a site that only has an IP address (the domain name has not been transferred yet).  We can't even access index.php - all we get is the php code.

I know the problem is not the server, because we installed SnippetMaster on another site hosted on the same server just to be sure. Then, to be double sure, we put it on a second site at the same server and we were able to log in (neither of these sites had actually snippets in them, so we didn't test the guts of the program, we just wanted to make sure we could get to index.php).

Anyway, the only difference among the sites is the use of the IP address as opposed to an actual URL. Could this be causing the problem, or might there be something else?

You can see what I'm referring to here: http://64.176.236.36/cms/

1) Can you confirm the files were uploaded in ASCII mode?

2) A standard .php file should never NOT be interpreted by the server, as long as the server is configured correctly.  If source code is bleeding into the browser for some reason then this is caused by misconfiguration of the server or invalid file recognition, etc..

Let me know your answer to #1 and I can try to help further..
