I have successfully installed this software on a couple of servers (including my XAMPP on Windows Vista test server!) and it looks exactly what I need for some of my clients with simple content management needs where a full blown CMS would be too much for them.
However when I try and install to one of my clients hosting account, I have exactly the problem identified in the topic
http://www.snippetmaster.com/forums/index.php/topic,1365.0.html where I can set the starting folder to a sub-directory of my website, but as soon as I try to set the home directory path itself (either during the install or after installing with the start folder initially set to a sub-directory), I get the error message 'not able to find the starting folder'.
i.e. /home/username/public_html/snippetmaster works while /home/username/public_html cannot be found.
I have got my hosting company to open up the permissions on the website root to 777, but this has not corrected the problem. The top level FTP access with this particular host is the website root itself. I have searched the forum for any reference to any other server configurations that produce this error, but haven't found anything so far.
What else can cause this problem apart from directory permissions?
Help would be greatly appreciated as I'd like to be able to offer this system on some of the sites I build in the future (Pro version 'natch!).
Cheers
