[-] What am I doing wrong?
« on: October 09, 2007, 02:39:33 AM »

Having installed the registered Pro software using the built-in facility, everything seemed to work when I tried the demo version apart from some annoying restrictions.  Now I have the full version, nothing seems to work!

The snippet tags don't seem to have any effect and I can edit abolutely everything in a page regardless of whether I log in as admin or user.  This includes menu lists and headers/footers alike.  My understanding was that the only elements available for editing were thos between the 'Snippet' labels?  In fact I really expected that those sections would be the only ones visible to users.

The WYSIWYG editor shows everything although it loses a great deal of the formatting and not everything is quite where expected - some elements overlap and are difficult to edit.

Attributes set for users seem to have absolutely no effect except to restrict users to the root folder and offer no option to open any files - not much point in being able to access a folder without having access to files - unless they have more privileges than I would normally grant a user.

I'm not blaming the software - it obviously works for others so it's most likely a blind-spot on my part.  Nevertheless I can find nothing in the forum or the documentation to help and although I'm fairly sure it's something I've done (or not done) correctly, I can usually sort out problems without seeking help.  Could it be that it's one of those programs that I just can't get on with?

I'm on the point of giving up and writing this one off as a mistake so any help would be much appreciated because I'm sure that once working, this promises to be the best CMS for my application.

Looking forward to some feedback
