settings and preferences export & import?

Hi, i am currently using the free re-brand version of SM with a view to using it on my clients websites.
Is it at all possible for me to export & import my settings and preferences for:
- Users
- List Groups
- Upload Groups
- Editor Groups

Can i create a template set of settings and preferences for the above,
which i can use on all my clients SM installs?

It would be somewhat time consuming to have to change them manually for each install i do.

Hello,

Yes and no. 

There is no built-in export and import function, but you can do this manually using two methods:

1. You can use the database backup utility (if it works for you -- some servers don't work properly).  This will put all the database files into a single backup archive, which you can then unzip into the database of a new installation.

2. You can manually copy the database files (/snippetmaster/snippet-db/random_name/*) from an existing installation to the new installation.  Then you would just need to manually edit the "program_settings.php", "users.php", and "upload_groups.php" files to make sure the urls and any path information are correct.
