***Here follows my days activities, this has been updated a few times as I've yet to receive reply***
After running autoinstaller.php successfully on my windows 2003 IIS 6.0 server running PHP 5.2 it told me that neither Zend or IonCube was installed. So I successfully installed Zend. When I ran autoinstaller.php in my browser it doesn't display correctly, code is all over place and images are blank. I have attached an image to show this.
****Addendum 1*** As far as I can see, all that the Zend install did (apart from install it's program files) was to add the following lines to my php.ini file: [Zend] zend_extension_manager.optimizer_ts="C:\Program Files\Zend\ZendOptimizer-3.2.0\lib\Optimizer-3.2.0" zend_extension_ts="C:\Program Files\Zend\ZendOptimizer-3.2.0\lib\ZendExtensionManager.dll"
In the meantime I tried the Manual install of SnippetMaster to no avail. Managed to start the install wizard and enter my database path but when it gets to install2.php I just get a blank white screen. If I go back it says it's already installed the program but no files have been installed so I can't log in??
****Addendum2 - January 12, 2007, 04:57:06 AM********** This is so unnecessarily hard this install procedure!! for such a wonderful looking program anyway....just wish I could get to use it!
I have now tried uninstalling Zend and installing the IonCube Loader and have had marginally more success!! The autoinstaller.php file works this time all the way up to the install wizard which I cannot get going as I get this error: Site error: the file C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\Polotest\install\index.php requires the ionCube PHP Loader ioncube_loader_win_5.2.dll to be installed by the site administrator.
and of course ionCube doesn't have a ioncube_loader_win_5.2.dll
****Addendum 3 - January 12, 2007, 08:45:21 AM*****
I have definitely got ioncube_loader_win_5.2.dll and have tried putting it in many different folders including windows/system32 and I have added a line into my PHP.ini file that references it (as detailed on the IonCube website) I have also started from scratch a few times installing everything in the correct way and order. BUT I am still getting the same sort of error: the file C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\Polotest\snippetmaster\index.php requires the ionCube PHP Loader ioncube_loader_win_5.2.dll to be installed by the site administrator.
Where should this file go??? what am I doing wrong? please help me anyone

Can you send me an email with: 1) A link to this thread. 2) Your ftp un/pw? 3) URL where snippetmaster is installed. I will then login and take a look to see if I can make it work for you. Send it to "henri @ snippetmaster.com" Thanks!

Update. The IonCube DLL is now being referenced properly. My fault, the reference path was one letter wrong in my PHP.ini file. Now that's sorted I get the same problem as before when trying to run the install wizard, I just get a blank white screen when it gets to install2.php. I can't go any further It creates a database folder ok, in this case it's called it 'a750b0cddd' but there is nothing in the folder.

A blank screen usually indicates there is a PHP configuration problem somewhere. Does the error log for your website show any indication of the problem?
Are you able to run phpinfo() without any problem?

Your problems sound identical to mine 3 threads down: http://www.snippetmaster.com/forums/index.php/topic,1201.0.html I'm attempting to install on IIS6 with PHP 5.2 as well. I found the same problems with both Zend and Ioncube. You'll see lccweb makes some suggestions. Unfortunately the server admin guy doesn't buy it and feels he's done enough to try and make it work..... Fortunately he is saying that we should use Linux instead. I've had no problems installing SM on Fasthosts and 1and1 Linux servers.
