I got the autoinstaller into a folder with my site, but when I open it in the browser, it shows as HTML code.

Something is definately not right, then.  The autoinstaller.php file should at least produce a PHP error if it doesn't work for some reason.

The fact that it is just spitting out HTML code means it isn't being "run" by PHP on your server.

Can you send me an email with a link to the autoinstaller file and I'll take a look?  (henri @ snippetmaster.com)
